Volunteer Clear Program

What is the Volunteer Clear Program?

  • The Volunteer Clear program is a comprehensive background checking service that investigates the identity and the history of volunteers. Businesses, agencies, churches and individuals can use this system to check criminal history, traffic records, financial history, and other essential data.
  • Information from the background check is pulled from the State and National Archives and is updated daily for your convenience. Once the individual has been screened, he or she is given an encrypted badge with all of their background information encoded into its microchip. They are then free to present the badge to any other organization they volunteer with to verify their identity/history.

Criminal Record Updates:

  • The Volunteer Clear system automatically updates daily at 3am to provide The Volunteer Center of Greensboro with up-to-date alerts on any new developments regarding the status of your volunteers. As soon as we receive an alert, we will immediately email, fax, or call your organization (depending on your preference) to notify you who has been flagged and why.

Pay for background checks online by clicking “Buy Now” below.  This button only allows you to submit your payment online; you must first complete a Notification and Release form to process a background check.  Contact The Volunteer Center to access all required forms.
