Donor Coordinator: We need several volunteers who can take calls from furniture donors, and schedule pick up times. Hours: 8am-12pm Mon-Fri

Shopper Assistants: We need several volunteers who can accompany clients to the warehouse and assist then as they chose their furniture. We have an active office and need someone who can learn quickly, and who is flexible and reliable. Must have the ability to complete forms and work with many different types of people. Warehouse Assistants:We need several volunteers who can be a part of the team to help move and organize furniture in the warehouse. MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT 50 LBS and have no physical limitations that prohibit from lifting and moving furniture! Hours: 8am-12pm Mon-Fri

needs volunteer coaches for youth soccer and baseball programs. Volunteer should be knowledgeable in youth sport, enjoy working with children, and emphasize fair play and good sportsmanship. Minimum age 18.

Habitat for Humanity

is looking for volunteers to work at ReStore, a retail center accepting donations of new and used building materials, fixtures, furniture, tools, and other surplus items open Tuesdays through Saturdays. Volunteers will pick up, fix, and clean donated items, operate the cash register, assist customers, answer phones, and work in the warehouse.

Build houses for low-income homeowners. Volunteers are needed on weekdays and on Saturdays. Construction projects including framing, roofing, painting, and siding. Individuals, churches, and civic groups

are invited to participate.

Happy Hills Animal Foundation

needs volunteers for the following duties:

Recruit new volunteers and contact current volunteers by e-mail and phone to staff adoption fairs and other events.

Plan and execute fundraising projects and events

Coordinate health checks for animals at the agency.

Horsepower TLC

needs volunteer horse leaders, sidewalkers, and mentors for its youth and therapeutic riding programs. Leaders groom, tack, and handle horses before, during, and after therapeutic riding sessions. Sidewalkers walk beside the horse during lessons to ensure the rider’s safety. Mentors serve as positive role models. Training provided. Volunteers also needed to work in the barns cleaning stalls and caring for horses. Minimum age 14.

KopperTop Life Learning Center

needs volunteers to feed animals, clean cages, and help with gardening.

Leslie’s House

needs female volunteers for the following tasks. All volunteers must have their own transportation. Minimum age 21.

Night Assistants from 8pm – 11pm to be responsible for assisting with in-take and helping guests get settled. Volunteer must ensure that guests abide by shelter rules. Once the guests are asleep and settled, the volunteer is allowed to leave.

Morning Assistants from 7am – 9am to help guests exit the shelter by 8am. The morning volunteer can do light cleaning and organizing of the shelter until staff arrives.

Inclement Weather Assistants to help when the weather is below freezing, icing or snowing so the shelter can extend hours so the guests can stay in.

Peer Helpers for the guests. There are some guests who need a support person who may help them in times of loneliness or just for general support.

Pick Up Person to pick up groceries from grocery stores who donate food.

Group members make new, washable blankets for children who have been traumatized or are otherwise in need. Blankets may be crocheted, knitted, quilted, or from fleece using a “no-sew” technique. Special events benefit community facilities that care for children.

(F) Nia Community Action Center, Inc needs volunteers are needed to assist with fundraising activities at the Greensboro Coliseum.  Volunteers will work at concession stands during events.  A portion of the proceeds will go toward the mission of Nia CAC which provides HIV/STD testing and awareness for the Greensboro community.  Training provided.  There are 3 volunteer events per month.
