Refugee Co-Sponsors – CWS helps welcome newly arrived refugees who have been forced to flee their home countries and have been offered the opportunity to start a new life of peace and dignity here in the US. Volunteers work closely with a particular family and provide support and guidance during the first 3 to 6 months after arrival.
-Volunteers will form friendships with refugee families and can be a source of emotional relief and support to them in their new unfamiliar environment. Volunteer tasks include meeting the family at the airport, practicing English with them, assisting with job applications, and showing them how to navigate the bus systems or go grocery shopping.
