Martin Luther King Day is considered a National Day of Service, encouraging people to “make it a day on, not a day off”! For years, The Volunteer Center has hosted a signature event designed to bring people from all over Guilford County together to complete service projects benefiting local nonprofit organizations and to learn about the many ways to serve throughout the year.
We are excited to announce that the Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service will be held at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex on Sunday, January 19 from 2pm-5pm!
Our 2020 event will include:
Nonprofit Fair- visit with around 30 great area nonprofits we work with so you can learn about the different ways to serve throughout the year!
On-site Service Projects- All attendees are invited to take part in fun, easy and impactful service projects that will directly benefit area nonprofit organizations.
Community Art- a unique way to come together as a community to create something beautiful!
Scavenger Hunt- learn about our featured nonprofit organizations to be entered into a raffle with terrific prizes!
Kid's Area- bring your little ones and help them learn how great it is to serve others in our community! Children ages 0-5 can sign up to receive FREE books each month as a part of Imagination Library.
